The Innocence of Women in Abbas Maroufi’s Stories

Abbas Maroufi is one of the most prominent and well-known contemporary Iranian novelists who, with his novels and stories, has created a fresh breathing space in contemporary Iranian literature. In this book, six of Abbas Maroufi’s short stories centered on the innocence of women are examined through a new critique inspired by Paul Simpson’s insights, alongside perspectives from Gerard Genette, Fowler, Spansky, and with attention to Carl Gustav Jung’s psychoanalytic views. It is hoped that alongside the many qualities of the late Abbas Maroufi’s works, a worthy grammatical critique has been presented.
