The Crisis of Leadership: Literary Criticism and Hafez’s Treatise

The topics of the book encompass two sections. In the first section, a conversation between “Malek Ebrahim Amiri” and “Reza Baraheni,” titled “The Crisis of Leadership in Criticism and Literary Critique,” has been published. In the book’s introduction, the author discusses global developments in the field of criticism and its new approach. Subsequently, during the conversation about the crisis of leadership in literary critique, it is pointed out that “We live in a world of evolving literary forms, not in a world of established literary forms, and since this evolving world of unestablished forms has many claimants, we face a crisis in cultivating and managing leadership in critique, criticism, and literary philosophy.” Some of the topics in the first section of the book are as follows: the meaning of internalizing historical concepts in literature, authors of serious literature, the revolution’s poetic system, a brief glance at Hafez’s poetry, the four main elements of poetry, the Renaissance and the characteristics of Western literature, what polyphonic poetry is, Freud and Jung, revolution and literature, revolution and the novel, the fate of literary forms, a structural analysis of the Qasida, and a reference to the Shahnameh. The second section of the book serves as an introduction to interpreting and analyzing Hafez’s poems.
