History of Andalusia

The Iberian Peninsula, including the countries of Spain, Portugal, and the small country of Andorra located in southwestern Europe, was under Muslim rule for nearly eight hundred years and is known in Islamic sources as Andalusia. Muslims entered this land in 92 AH/711 AD and lost their sovereignty in 897 AH/1492 AD when their last stronghold, Granada, fell to the Christians. The history of Andalusia is a beautiful, pleasant, and at the same time sorrowful chapter in the history and civilization of the turbulent Muslim nations. This book briefly narrates the three hundred and some years of this eight-century period, from the beginning of the conquest to the end of the Umayyad rule in Andalusia (years between 92 to 422 AH/711 to 1030 AD), explaining and describing the main historical events of the era.
