With the ever-increasing dominance of capitalist logic over the late and contemporary era, accompanied by the expansion of ideologies aligned with this condition, all social and cultural spheres inevitably undergo fundamental changes. As these spheres become more abstractly dependent on the social system’s overall structure, the remaining reality of them turns into meaningless and sometimes worn-out heaps, which seem to have originally held self-contained meanings aligned with a systemic totality. Amidst such turmoil, this writing does not appear as a literary critique nor does it claim a fully sociological analysis. Instead, it aims to provide a report and interpretation of the influential tendencies in several Persian novels of the decade that has passed: the 1390s (Iranian calendar). Accordingly, one major theme of this report is how history is narrated within the hidden and silent context of literary works. It involves a dialectical inquiry into the political unconscious and the dominant class culture within literary works and their relationship with sustaining ideologies.
