Injustice for Justice

Injustice for Justice is the first collection that narrates the history of the formation of the women’s political prison in the decade preceding the revolution, told by some of the prisoners of that era. The unique feature of the book lies in the fact that it is not a single person’s memory or interpretation, but encompasses the experiences of 37 prisoners and several of their family members, each with diverse political views and perspectives shared in their narratives. Another notable aspect of this book is its chronological order of events. The first volume begins with the arrest of three women at the start of the armed struggle in the summer of 1971 and ends with the release of two prisoners in early 1975. The second volume starts from early 1975, detailing the new policies of the Shah’s regime following the announcement of the Rastakhiz Party and its impact on the treatment of activists and prisoners, continuing up to the last days of that regime’s downfall.
