Diary Memoirs of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (from Rabi’ al-Awwal 1309 to Safar al-Muzaffar 1310 AH)

Diary Memoirs of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar is a valuable collection that covers an important part of Iranian history through the pen of one of its most well-known kings. This series, published by Sokhan Publishing and the Dr. Mahmoud Afshar Endowment Foundation, provides readers with a slice of time recorded by Naser al-Din Shah Qajar in each volume.
The present volume is dedicated to events occurring from Rabi’ al-Awwal 1309 to Safar al-Muzaffar 1310 AH that were noted by Naser al-Din Shah Qajar in his diary memoirs. This volume, containing five hundred pages of detailed events from the era of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, was gathered and corrected by Majid Abdamin and Nasrin Khalili.
This book is the result of a comprehensive review and correction of one of the albums from the Golestan Palace Historical Documents Center, covering events from Rabi’ al-Awwal 1309 to Safar al-Muzaffar 1310 AH. The book begins with a short journey to the town of Ali Shah instead of Tehran, with Naser al-Din Shah Qajar vividly depicting events over these few days, creating a literary atmosphere rather than a simple historical diary. Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, who was a prolific writer throughout his life and highly skilled in this regard, recorded in this volume incidents such as the theft from the ancient and beautiful Peacock Throne, the Kelardasht uprising, the arrest of Seyed Mohammad Kelardashti, the global influenza pandemic, and a popular and historic movement known as the Tobacco Protest, leaving these records as a legacy for future generations.
