The book Diary of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (Volume Five) contains Naser al-Din Shah’s daily notes from Shawwal 1288 to Dhu al-Hijjah 1290. It includes descriptions of daily national affairs, a report on the Shah’s three-month summer trip to the shores of the Caspian Sea, a six-month stay in Tehran with preparations for the next year’s European trip, the royal caravan’s journey towards Anzali, and finally a detailed account of the Shah’s European travel. This volume holds special importance as it documents the first trip of an Iranian king to European countries.
