The book before you is a small effort to define and introduce the indicators and components of mental and cultural health. This book is organized into six chapters. The first chapter examines the relationship between culture, illness, and health. The second chapter discusses cultural health, its meaning, and its dimensions. The third chapter addresses social capital and its connection to health, specifically the impact of social capital on the public health of society. The fourth chapter begins with exploring the role of religion and spirituality in the cultural health of society and finally discusses the spiritual health of individuals. The fifth chapter considers health from a social perspective. The final chapter, titled mental health, concludes by examining the relationship between psychiatric medications and individuals’ health. Additionally, the last chapter includes a case study report from Fars Province on the issue of divorce, one of today’s societal challenges that significantly affects the mental health of all community members, from children to adults.
