The twelfth volume of the collection “She’r-e Zaman-e Ma” (“Poetry of Our Time”), published by Negah Publications, is dedicated to Yadollah Royaee, a contemporary innovative poet, and has been released under the supervision of Feyz Sharifi. Yadollah Royaee, an Iranian poet born in Damghan, was born in 1932 and completed his education from primary school to high school in the same city. He then moved to Tehran, and his socialist inclinations led to his arrest in 1953 when he was only 21 years old. A year later, he began writing poetry and, under the pen name “Roya” (Meaning “Dream”), published these poems in various publications. In 1965, Royaee and Shamloo co-founded the publication “Barou,” and that same year, Yadollah Royaee’s first poetry collection, titled “Bar Jadde-ye Tehi” (“On the Empty Road”), was also published. Shortly after, the collection “Sh’erhaye Daryayi” (“Sea Poems”) was published by Morvarid Publications and was so well-received that it underwent several reprints. Along with Ebrahim Golestan and Mahmood Zand, Yadollah Royaee founded the Roozan Publications, and a year later, he published the poetry book “Az Dooset Daram” (“From I Love You”). In 1969, Yadollah Royaee, along with some avant-garde artists, released the manifesto of a movement called Hajm-Garaei or Espassmantalisme (Spatialism), which introduced a new perspective in the world of poetry, known as “Volume Poetry” (Hajm-Garaei). Poets such as Houshang Chalanghi, Parviz Eslampour, and Mahmood Shojaee supported this movement. “She’r-e Zaman-e Ma” (“Poetry of Our Time”) is a collection of volumes that has so far published 15 parts, analyzing the works of prominent contemporary poets. Among Yadollah Royaee’s published works, eight poetry collections titled “Az Dooset Daram” (“From I Love You”), “Labreekhteha” (“Overflowing Lips”), “Haftad Sang-e Ghabr” (“Seventy Tombstones”), “Man Gozashteh: Emza” (“I Passed: Signature”), “Sh’erhaye Daryayi” (“Sea Poems”), “Deltangiha” (“Longings”), “Bar Jadde-ye Tehi” (“On the Empty Road”), and “Dar Jostejoye Aan Loghat-e Tanha” (“In Search of That Lonely Word”) were selected for inclusion in this series.
