Theories of Novel in Iran

This book attempts to present a picture of the novel criticism movement in Iran based on the aesthetics of Immanuel Kant and Hegel. Initially, the influence of historical, social, and cultural conditions in Iran between 1921 and 1961 is examined, followed by an introduction to the first literary manifestos concerning the novel in Iran. The book also discusses the encounter and conflict between two opposing intellectual currents: the dialectic of humanism and formalism.
