The World Is Woven from Stories

The stories we tell about what is and what is not, about ourselves, about right and wrong, about life and death, and about the world and everything in it, ultimately form the foundation of our experience, as well as the foundation of the reality we experience. We narrate the world. In a sense, we make the world into a story, and then live in the story we have told ourselves. By understanding this truth—that the world is woven from stories—we realize that all subjective and objective forms in this world are inherently empty of self.
