The Poverty of Philosophical Thought

Idealism defines the boundaries of a civilization, and realism undertakes the construction of civilization in a three-dimensional structure—length in terms of time, art in breadth, and philosophy in height. Philosophy, independent of what religion has prepared for humanity’s afterlife based on revelation, provides the legal, political, and economic mechanisms needed for human well-being in this world, under the title of civilization and development. Development reflects the quality of civilization, and achieving sustainable development, meaning the continuous enhancement of the quality of civilization, requires the presence of freedom and the establishment of realism. Meanwhile, idealism stands in opposition and conflict with freedom and realism. Freedom is a prerequisite for philosophy, and philosophy, with its characteristic of rejecting any form of authority, acts as the driving force behind development. Only in a free society can philosophy negate rigid authorities and lead to new scientific and artistic outputs. Prerequisites for civilization and development: the presence of freedom / the existence of philosophical thought / desacralization (rejection of divine rights and rigid sacredness) / dispelling superstitions (rejection of myths and nonsense)
