The Book of Settings

Mirza Melkam Khan Nazem al-Dowleh is a modern political thinker at the forefront of the Constitutional Era, who composed a treatise called The Invisible Booklet or The Book of Settings, containing principles of governance. Melkam was one of Iran’s alert and intelligent men, well-aware of the conditions of his time, the country’s pains, and European governments’ politics more than anyone else. Therefore, his goal with his writings was to strive for the awakening of Iranians, and his works have served as models for Iranian freedom seekers and writers.
