Philosophical Foundations of Love from the Perspective of Ibn Sina and Mulla Sadra

The realm of love is such that human reason and thought cannot grasp it, and the problem of love is beyond the scope of knowledge. Philosophers and mystics consider love to be flowing through every particle of the universe and regard it as the foundation of life and the essence and basis of the existence of the world and humanity. The esteemed author explores the philosophical foundations of love from the perspective of two prominent sages, Ibn Sina and Mulla Sadra, comparing them. Ibn Sina is a distinguished figure of the Peripatetic school who applies logical reasoning and rational argumentation, also known as ‘Scholastic Philosophy.’ Mulla Sadra is the founder of the ‘Transcendent Theosophy,’ which harmonizes the Quran, reason, and mysticism.
