Myths Warn

This book demonstrates how the role of myth is to remind us that the disruption of balance between city and village, femininity and masculinity, along with other binary oppositions, leads to crisis; a crisis stemming from the exploitation of the lifeworld by the capitalist system, which focuses on labor exploitation and mass consumption, limiting and enslaving people in the struggle to earn a minimum livelihood. Therefore, the essence of myth is that, from a phenomenological perspective, events exist in the lives of Iranians and their communities, and by becoming aware of them, it may be possible to overcome the hidden horror present in everyday life moments and seriously recall and become aware of the importance of balance between opposing poles. The outcome of this awareness is that, with knowledge of the message of myths, it is possible to reconstruct and experience a more orderly world.
