Ham Bakht

Ham Bakht has a story that begins in September 1941. It starts with the invasion of foreign forces on the people of a land that has historically remained neutral throughout its existence. Perhaps this is why, in the metaphor of the novel’s story, two different representatives of this generation—both coincidentally sharing the same name and connected to the same structure and soil—lose one hand, which happens to be their right hand, during this invasion. The author intends to convey that the history of Iran is a history of severed hands that, before being taken by the rulers, are plundered by foreign hands.
