The author, considering the conducted research on security, seeks to provide different approaches in the field of security studies by making a macro division. To this end, the book separately presents and examines traditional, modern, and postmodern approaches. The book also pays attention to the genealogy and history of the evolution of the concept of national security, referring to analytical approaches to national security and discussing the origins and status of national security studies before and after the war. Thus, the book pursues these goals: 1. Detailed presentation of the methodological problem in the field of security studies. 2. Introduction of the most important examples related to common methods in Western security studies through the translation of selected published works. 3. Preparing the ground for entering into indigenous reflections, aiming to apply the introduced methods in the Iranian context and to include new perspectives in this field.
