The history of fabric weaving can be traced back through historical discussions. From ancient times, archaeological findings and ancient history reveal artifacts related to fabric and clothing. Historical writings also mention this, for example, Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh attributes the invention of weaving to Tahmoures and Jamshid Pishdadi; where Tahmoures Pishdadi first clothed people with sheep and lamb wool, and then Jamshid created linen and silk garments using natural raw materials. It is said that before these periods, people’s clothing was made from leather and the skins of hunted animals. In the time of Keyumars, the first human mentioned in Pahlavi writings and the first king in Shahnameh as per Ferdowsi, it is narrated that his fortune and throne rose on a mountain, dressed in leopard skin along with his group. From him came the cultivation of new and worn clothing.
