Attaché Names

One of our most important problems in literature is the lack of serious questions. In fact, literary decline begins when we stop in literature and instead of thinking and raising questions, we settle for quotations and our readings from past books regarding literary issues. Or instead of rational reasoning, we rely on transmitted narratives and close the door to questioning. There is no doubt about the greatness of the greats, and as the late Akhavan said, “We must respect the elders.” But the question is, what have we, as poets, contributed or added to poetry and literature in this historical-geographical context?
