An Introduction to Geostrategy

Geostrategy is a new discipline introduced by the military after World War II and recognized as a science that studies the role of geographical environmental factors in the formulation of strategies in general and military strategies in particular. In other words, geostrategy is the knowledge that examines the set of geographical environmental factors involved in the formation and implementation of strategies on a global scale. In this book, the author explains the concept of geostrategy and introduces the related structural transformations. It also elaborates on its global functions and discusses new criteria for determining geostrategic zones such as the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea. Finally, the book examines the geostrategic positions of major world powers including the United States, Russia, India, China, and the European Union.
