An Analytical Framework for Examining the Foreign Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Foreign policy has always been one of the most contentious areas of policymaking everywhere, but unfortunately in Iran, its true importance and role in determining the fate of the country and nation, facilitating ups and downs, and its unquestionable value as one of the greatest tools for ensuring territorial integrity, national security, international prestige and credibility, and advancing national political, economic, cultural, and other objectives have not been adequately and scientifically recognized. This book, as one of the first steps to address this deficiency, is a collection of articles and writings by one of the most distinguished Iranian scholars residing in the United States, who has focused on studying Iran’s foreign policy for nearly half a century. In this collection, alongside a theoretical discussion about examining the foreign policy of developing societies, the overall evolution of Iran’s foreign policy after the revolution until recent times is outlined, and predictions regarding Iran’s role in the third millennium are also presented.
