Mehdi Ghabraei was born in 1945 in Langarud. He is the son of Mohammad Ghabraei and Fatemeh Mohammadi Rasakhi. He completed his primary and high school education in Langarud. In 1968, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Tehran University. Since 1981, he has been professionally involved in literary translation. His two brothers, Farhad Ghabraei and Hadi Ghabraei, were also translators.
