You Are Good

They say that once every thousand years, the star of fortune and destiny shines upon a tribe, nation, or country. Who or what the star chooses depends on the actions of that tribe or nation. Khater Hojazi uses this idea as a basis and explores it with a fictional narrative. The story begins by a pond, where the only daughter of a rural family unites with a half-human, half-fish creature. However, their secret is revealed. Unaware that she stands at the beginning of a turning point in fate, the girl joins Gholamhossein, the man who loves her. From these three characters—Gholamhossein, the aquatic creature, and the girl—children are born who, throughout the story, sometimes in conflict and sometimes in certainty, realize their grave duty to call upon the star of fortune. Meanwhile, a force of evil strives to take the star away from their homeland. Will they be able to invoke this star over Iran? Whether good or evil will prevail is another concern of this novel. Some say good triumphs; others say evil succeeds. What do you say? Should you doubt your judgment, follow the story to confront yourself, as you are a character within it, in a fresh, immersive setting.
