The story of this book has a historical backdrop and its events are narrated through the examination of documents and credible evidence; however, fictional characters are inevitably added, and sometimes the author’s imagination is involved. The story begins in February 1948 and, while depicting the times of Paridokht, the cherished granddaughter of the grandfather, a young woman about to have her wedding celebration with Emad, the family’s jewel, it also portrays the political and social conditions of that era. Just when Paridokht goes to Monsieur’s tailor shop to take family orders, suddenly the silence of Friday is broken as a massive crowd runs through the streets taunting each other. It seems the Shah has been assassinated at the university, and this uproar is because of that event. But now, there is no sign of Emad, who was supposed to visit the university!
