Contemporary universities have undergone changes due to cultural, social, and technological shifts in the current era, leading to the emergence of new concepts in higher education, science, and technology studies. In this global context, recent years have seen cultural and social studies of higher education, science, and technology not only gaining attention but becoming central to the epistemology and future outlook of higher education. Understanding the challenges facing higher education and the expectations placed upon it, based on the internal and external components of the science system, the current status, and future interactions between universities and their surrounding environment, is made possible through cultural and social studies. Through this approach, strategies can be developed to balance university functions with social needs and labor market demands. Therefore, studies of higher education and science are essential for understanding the current situation, evaluating its interactions with society and culture, and enhancing higher education’s role in shaping the country’s future, utilizing the capacity of social and human sciences and applying their strategies in policymaking and decision-making.
