Tomorrow I Am a Traveler

The flowing spring of Ashura culture, spanning centuries and eras, has created lofty and significant poems and literary texts in praise and commemoration of the greatest tragedy of the Prophet’s family on that historic day. From these, the highest and most astonishing texts have been produced in praise, condolence, and mourning of Hussein ibn Ali (peace be upon him) and his bloodied companions in Karbala. Iranian literature, especially the literature of today’s Iranian youth, is no exception to this rule, and in the years following the Islamic Revolution, noteworthy works in this field have emerged. However, the pleasure derived from the creation of a story about this event by a young author in our forthcoming era is far greater than the admiration felt from previously read works on Ashura.
