The stories in this collection mostly revolve around the eternal issue of good and evil and the ultimate decision between these two lines. Aside from the settings of the stories, which are sometimes local and sometimes urban and familiar, the core of the stories remains this decision and, of course, the inner struggle to break the boundaries that rightly or wrongly govern us and our behavior. It can be said that, in a way, the characters are caught in the turmoil of decision and choice, and those who decide never become free of concern, with this mental conflict lingering with them. The author has tried to adhere to the obvious principle of creating a language suitable to the atmosphere and essence of the stories. “They Are Knocking” is a collection of the efforts and concerns of individuals struggling with choices, whether made or unmade! Moniruddin Beirouti, born in 1970, won the Golshiri Foundation Award for Best First Story Collection of the Year 2004 with his collection of stories “Single Brick.” Years ago, he used to publish his stories in the press. His novel “Four Pains” won the Golshiri Foundation Award for Best Novel of 2006.
