To understand the most important works of Persian prose, one must refer to the thousand-year history of Persian literature, among which three books hold significant rank and importance: Tarikh-e Beyhaqi, Kalila and Dimna, and Gulistan of Saadi. In this book, the author examines and researches the position of prose in Shiraz and Fars in the development of Persian prose during the 7th to 9th centuries AH. He investigates the influence of the writing style of Nasrallah Monshi Shirazi and other important prose writers of Shiraz and Fars, especially Rouzbehan Baqli Shirazi, Qutb al-Din Shirazi, Moein al-Din Moallem, Jalal al-Din Davani, and Ibn Rouzbehan Thani, in the mentioned centuries on Persian prose and their works. The most important chapter of this work is dedicated to the unparalleled book Gulistan of Saadi, and some books written following Saadi’s writing style are also introduced in this section, including Rawzat al-Khald Mojad Khvafi, Baharestan of Jami, and Akhlaq al-Ashraf of Ubayd Zakani.
