The History of the Evolution of Courts and Judiciary in Iran (2 Volumes)

This research addresses the evolution of courts and judiciary in Iran from the Qajar era to 1941, utilizing documents from the National Archive of the National Library and Archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the first volume, the study examines the judicial and adjudication system during the Qajar period and the transformations in religious, customary courts, and the Diwan system into the judiciary institutions. It also covers the establishment of justice funds, judicial instructions aimed at organizing and compiling regulations and laws, judicial codes, and the first civil and criminal procedural codes based on archival documents. The second volume discusses issues including the Constitutional Revolution and its amendment, the evolution of the principles of civil and criminal procedures, judicial reforms, procedures, the dissolution and reopening of courts, changes during the judiciary period of Ali Akbar Davar, as well as common crimes and punishments of that era.
