The Dominion of Gender

Feminism has been a social movement that has turned to various philosophical schools in search of foundations. Liberalism during the Enlightenment, Romanticism in the nineteenth century, Existentialism in the mid-twentieth century, and the New Left in the 1960s and 70s. This book aims to explain how feminism relies on these schools and also seeks to answer the question of the extent to which the validity, efficiency, and durability of various feminist tendencies correspond to the validity, efficiency, and durability of the philosophical schools that underpin them.
