Structure and Nature of Methodology in Political Science

The book, using a paradigmatic approach and skepticism towards empirical methodological foundations, pursues two main goals simultaneously: First, that there is no single, unique “scientific method,” and what we face are various “scientific methods” none of which is logically superior or preferable to the others. The different and sometimes contradictory methods that scientists have used in different periods actually stem from distinct understandings and languages they employed when confronting realities. Second, science is moving in a fundamental hidden shift towards relativism and interpretivism. This means that the “horizon of expectation” of social sciences and empirical sciences have come closer together and are no longer opposed to each other.
