Speech Without Sin and Kha and Noon

Rumi Jalal al-Din Muhammad Balkhi was born in 604 AH in Balkh. He and his father migrated from Balkh to Konya a few years after his birth and before the Mongol invasion due to conflicts Baha’uld had with the royal court. Rumi became the sheikh of the city of Konya and held preaching sessions until Shams visited him. The meeting with Shams brought profound spiritual transformations to Rumi, turning him into the passionate mystic we know today, whose fervor is evident in his works. Rumi has numerous mystical works, including: Fihi Ma Fihi, a collection of his discourses answering various ethical and mystical questions, and interpretations; Maktubat, his letters addressing daily matters of his disciples and acquaintances; Majalis Sab’ah, his sermons and admonitions; and Divan of Poems, comprising his most passionate ghazals. The Masnavi-ye Ma’navi is especially noteworthy for containing deep mystical concepts conveyed through allegories and stories. He passed away in 672 AH in Konya. Mohammad Najari’s book “Speech Without Sin and Kha and Noon” compiles selected articles from the fourth international Shams and Rumi conference, drawn from about one hundred papers. These fascinating and impactful articles help us better understand this mystical poet, grasp his mysticism, and study his books with enhanced comprehension.
