Seyyed Hassan Hosseini was a poet, writer, researcher, and translator. His books such as ‘Bidil, Sepehri, and the Indian Style’ and ‘Fist in Close-Up’ exemplify his scholarly and thoughtful writing. Works like ‘Sparrow and Gabriel,’ ‘Whirlwind Travelogue,’ and ‘Generic Antidote’ showcase his poetic style. He was an experimental and innovative poet. His command of Arabic and English allowed him to connect with literary and artistic movements worldwide; examples of his translations include ‘Poetry and Mirror’ and ‘Bath of the Spirit.’ In the 1990s, he conducted linguistic research focusing on the linguistic style of the Quran and Hafez’s poetry, which culminated in extensive studies titled ‘The Style of the Quran and the Language of Hafez,’ soon to be published. Seyyed Hassan Hosseini was born on March 21, 1956, in the Salsabil district of Tehran and passed away on the morning of March 28, 2004.
