Rubaiyat of Khayyam

The issues that Khayyam raises in his poems are primarily philosophical. He speaks of the helplessness of humans in the face of the grandeur of creation, which has neither a beginning nor an end. He questions where this coming is from and where this going leads. He also wonders why the potter of the universe, who has crafted such a delicate cup, strikes it upon the ground, causing it pain. Since the sage was also familiar with medical knowledge, he must have observed sudden death in patients. This sudden death is caused by cardiac complications in more than 70 percent of cases.
