Hossein Sanapour, in the book’s introduction titled “Who is a Writer?”, writes: It seems inevitable to say that someone becomes a writer who cannot avoid writing. That is, he does not necessarily write for income (whether he earns well or not). He does not write for fame (whether he likes it or not). Even success does not drive him (at least success as understood by others). He writes because it is the best thing he can do. He writes because it is the most real thing he can do. Because he believes he can truly make a difference through writing. Because he feels incomplete without writing. Because he fears not writing more than writing. Because he needs his inner satisfaction more than the approval and recognition of others.
