Hazin Lahiji is a ghazal poet of the Indian style in the twelfth century AH and should be considered the last bright flame of this style in the history of our literature. Part of the present book includes an introduction to this prominent poet and presenting a selection of his works. Furthermore, the author, considering that Hazin’s poetry was subject to many reviews and critiques during his time, which reflect meticulousness, deep knowledge, and keen observation unparalleled in the twelve-hundred-year history of Islamic literature, attempts to provide a perspective on the horizons of literary criticism of that period and the periods following it, reviewing the quantity and quality of these critics’ work. According to the author, this section may be the most important part of the book.
