Old and New in the World of Mystics is a collection of essays about the thoughts of great Iranian orators. This work is composed of sixteen sections, each not only presenting the author’s words but also delving into the themes and exploring the mystical foundations of each, offering interpretations to lovers of Iranian literature and mysticism. It includes mystical examinations of the seven trials of Rostam, Keykhosrow, and Zahhak the Dragon-Slayer from the Shahnameh, a comparison of the ideas of Rumi and Omar Khayyam of Nishapur, mystical analyses of several Masnavi stories, a discourse on Husayn ibn Mansur al-Hallaj, an analysis of Nizami’s Khamsa, a mystical interpretation of Saadi’s ghazals, and an analysis of the flight of birds in various treatises.
