Mohammad Masoud was an Iranian novelist and journalist whose Night Amusements is considered his first and best work; in this work, he depicts the cultural, social, and general living conditions of Iranians during the Reza Khan era, utilizing exaggeration as a literary device to highlight the shortcomings and problems prevalent in society at that time. Mohammad skillfully narrates the nocturnal gatherings and city wanderings of young people who, due to a lack of proper knowledge and upbringing neglected by society, spend their time idly and purposelessly.
