New Structure of Security, Peace, and Cooperation in the Persian Gulf

The main subject of the book is to explain the historical and political background and causes of the strained relations between Iran and the Gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia. Mousavian, due to his background and positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the ups and downs of Iran’s relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council members, has managed to present new and innovative points of history regarding cooperation and conflict among them in the field of diplomacy. In the book New Structure of Security, Peace, and Cooperation in the Persian Gulf, the evolution of the relationship between Iran and Saudi Arabia, as the most powerful member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, holds an important place and is discussed in detail. Mousavian believes that the disputes and tensions among the Gulf states – including Iran and the GCC members – can be moderated and managed through a collective security and cooperation system and mechanisms for establishing continuous dialogue and trust-building.
