Naked in the Wind

Mehrali is a government employee whose sole focus is to write a novel and publish it. He especially reminisces about his military service and a lieutenant named Mansour Marashi, wanting to write about him. Marashi is a non-conforming, unruly lieutenant, a gambler yet courageous individual, who is favored by higher-ups. Meanwhile, Mehrali realizes that a file he is handling pertains to the same lieutenant, and Marashi himself visits him as a client on the same day. The two embark on a journey together, during which Marashi discusses philosophy, resignation, and more. Upon returning home, they discover that Mehrali’s father-in-law is also writing a screenplay about Mansour Marashi. However, in his version, Marashi is portrayed as a ruthless killer. Stories intertwine—Marashi’s tales, Mehrali’s memories, Mehrali’s narrative, the colonel’s screenplay, the letters from Marashi’s stepmother, and more. These interconnected layers come together, leaving it to the reader to determine the true course of events.
