Mubarak and the Prince’s Curse; Uncle Nowruz and Grandma Cold

Mubarak is the main character in puppet theatre plays and blackface performances, with roots in rich Iranian culture. In my opinion, he follows the path of Siavash and aims to embody purity, honesty, truthfulness, and chivalry, just like Siavash. He blackens his face to resemble Siavash and wears red clothes in avenging Siavash. The attire of Haji Firuz, Siyah Takht, Houzi, and Mubarak in puppet theatre has a distinctly Iranian origin linked to the Mithraic cult. During the era of Bahram Gur, alongside the migration of Indian performers, puppet theatre became popular. This joyful performance was held during festivals and weddings. In puppet theatre, several puppets performed roles instead of people in a place called the tent.
