Molana

The author, after outlining the intellectual and political situation of Iran at the beginning of the 7th century AH, introduces the mystical school of Sheikh Najm al-Din Kubra, a mystic of the 6th and 7th centuries AH, and his disciples. Then, briefly narrates the life of Baha al-Din Walad, Molana’s father, along with his family environment and migration from Balkh to Konya. The book also points to the influence of the teachings of Borhan al-Din Mohaqqiq Tarafdhi, Shams Tabrizi, and Salah al-Din Zarkub on the growth and elevation of Molana. Other topics covered include Molana’s style of poetry and works, mystic Sama, the connection between Saadi and Molana, roots of Iranian mysticism, love and humanity from Molana’s perspective, the scope of Molana’s thought in the Western world, Molana’s death, famous narrators and interpreters of his works, Persian works about Molavi, and the twelve principles of practical mysticism.
