Karaj Attacks

Karaj Attacks is a book by Matin Izadi, a young Iranian author who, in addition to his writing activities, is also engaged in game design and performance in the field of video game media. This book, titled “Karaj Attacks” and published by Nimaaj Publishing in eighty-eight pages, has undergone multiple revisions by the author himself. Matin Izadi has made several attempts to present it in the form of a play, screenplay, or video game script, but the final result was that among the many versions created, the current narrative style and the short story format were favored by him. The collection includes five stories besides “Karaj Attacks,” namely “Blood Flooding Out of Ayaz and Fayyaz’s House,” “Drawing the Foot of the Better Ones to the Scribe of Children’s Books in Kish,” “Asad’s Gun,” and “The Story of Seeing a Whale in the Firoozabad Canal.” In all the stories of this collection, Matin Izadi tries to blend magical realism with urban fantasies and intertwines various elements to create stories that contain glimpses of speculative literature. Just as the author immerses himself in the fantasy and imaginary world of the stories during the writing process, readers can also experience a different, engaging, and entertaining reading by studying these stories.
