Here; Under the Fig Tree There Is a Party Every Night!

Iranian fictional literature has experienced a renewed interest in short stories this year. This form of storytelling, according to many literary activists, is not only a platform where the new generation of Iranian writers have much to say but also positions Iran and its short story writers as pioneers of this writing style. Neyestan Publishing has released various collections of short stories by young authors this year, each engaging its audience in a unique style. The book “Here; Under the Fig Tree There Is a Party Every Night!” is among these works. It features eight short stories by Ghazal Amiri, one of the prominent young writers of the country. Amiri’s approach in this collection is introspective and emotional. Through her stories, she attempts to achieve an inner discovery of herself, the people around her, and the relationships between them, expressing these insights through storytelling.
