God is love

The book “God is Love,” compiled and researched by Farideh Barangi with a foreword by Dr. Ahmad Tamim Dari, has been published. According to the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA), this book includes verses from the Holy Quran, the Bible, the Torah, the Psalms, and poems related to these verses and the theme of love. Farideh Barangi says about this book: “I believe that humanity has always been in chains, and pain is a companion of mankind. Every individual finds a remedy for their pains based on their beliefs and convictions. In this journey, Persian literature has presented numerous poems about the human psyche, human suffering, and love as a means of liberation from them.” She adds, “On the other hand, many verses in the Quran and other holy books also place special emphasis on love. In this book, emphasizing that the root of all human suffering lies in ignorance, I have presented examples of verses and poems about love.” Barangi also mentions the use of the image of a bird in the text of this book and states: “I have used bird imagery in the text of this book. Birds symbolize liberation and reaching great heights. Through these images, I have tried to depict human loneliness—a loneliness akin to a cage from which only love and affection can set one free.”
