This book, which consists of twenty-two short stories. We are four women. When we get together, we can laugh even if we are sad. Our conversations start with our children and end with our men. That is why our voices start soft and tender but gradually become harsher and harsher. All of us betray our husbands. One of us is a mentally challenged woman who betrays her husband by cooking food with her saliva. Another one exploits her husband financially, and she considers this betrayal. As for me, I have withheld my emotions from my husband for years and now see him as just another object in the house; this itself is a kind of betrayal. The fourth one has also betrayed, but not her husband—herself—because she has never lived the way she wanted to, and now, she doesn’t even know how she wanted to live.
