Crossing Consolidation

The story of the rise and fall of Tahkim is the tale of a generation that bore the consequences of its own mistakes. A generation that never achieved its rightful place and was lost in the turbulent politics of Iran. Despite this, without a doubt, the experience of the Office of Tahkim-e Vahdat is one of the most valuable organizational political experiences in contemporary Iran. This collection strives to provide a fair and unbiased, though not neutral, narrative of the structural and discursive factors behind the split of the Office of Tahkim-e Vahdat in March 2002. Through this work, attempts have been made to conduct frank and critical discussions with individuals and factions who, over the years, had not shared their own narratives of these events. This work encompasses approximately 140 hours of in-depth interviews and discussions with numerous student activists from the Office of Tahkim-e Vahdat, as well as analysts and experts in this field. It is a step toward understanding the nature of transformations during one of the most significant periods in contemporary history and revisiting one of the most influential political organizations in Iran.
