Confrontation of Utopianists

A precise evaluation of the reasons behind the foreign policy confrontation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States is achieved by understanding the nature of their foreign policies. Distinguishing between idea and substance and likening ideology to the command center while substance includes interests, security, and influence in the arena of action on one hand, and identifying the foreign policy goals of both countries on the other, along with assessing the compatibility and incompatibility of these two elements on a macro level and utilizing the methodology of political jurisprudence based on a comprehensive and precise definition of ideology, can be considered a novel approach. This text challenges prevalent realistic perspectives and intellectual and scientific inquiries of recent centuries, covering many theoretical blind spots and more.
