This book narrates a poignant story rooted in the ongoing reality within the heart of Afghanistan; a 16-year-old teenage boy crosses the Iranian border illegally at his uncle’s request, who is the only member of the family that has not left Afghanistan, to assist him. After suffering from cold-related illness for a few days, the workday finally arrives; however, what he witnesses is vastly different from what he had imagined.
