This book provides an understanding of the famous book One Thousand and One Nights. The author, Dr. Shahram Delshad (born 1988), a literary researcher and translator, first discusses the silence and centuries of isolation, marginalization, or quietness of this work, and attempts to analyze the reasons for this in four chapters: ‘The spirit of realism in Islamic society, conflict with Sharia, a secondary work, the Iranian originality of the book.’ Another question addressed in this book is whether One Thousand and One Nights is a technical and artful work from the perspective of narratology and literature. The author’s answers, elaborated over seven chapters, lead to a recognition of the artistry of this work: ‘Open ending, strange and astonishing rule, delay of the climax, narrative overlap, questioning, empathy.’
